The historic Oath Taking Ceremony of the 1st Wancho Council (2020–23) was held at the Event Multi-Purpose Hall, Kanubari. Twelve elected members took the oath of office in the presence of community elders, guests, and well-wishers.

The ceremony marked a formal beginning for the council as an elected community body. In his first address, the president outlined priorities — cultural preservation, youth engagement, welfare outreach, and institutional strengthening of the council itself.

The event concluded with the community slogan — Jai Wanchonu! Jai Arunachal! Jai Hind! — echoed by every attendee.
