Preserve
Safeguard Wancho language, traditions, and intangible heritage for future generations.
Preserving Wancho heritage, advancing welfare, and carrying one united voice from the Longding district since 2016.
Who we are
At Wancho Council, we believe that every individual deserves a chance to thrive. Our journey began in 2016 with a group of passionate community members who came together with one shared mission — to preserve Wancho culture, support our villages, and represent our people in the affairs of Longding district and beyond.
Over the years, the council has grown into a trusted forum for elders, youth, and civic leaders — organising cultural events, coordinating with government bodies, and running welfare outreach across the five major villages of Longding.
To strengthen the Wancho community through cultural preservation, civic representation, and welfare — working hand in hand with villages, government, and youth.
A thriving Longding where every Wancho individual has opportunity, voice, and pride in their roots — and where our traditions remain living, not frozen.
