The Wancho Council, Longding district unit, extended a heartful welcome to Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Union Minister of State for Education, during his visit to the region. The reception featured traditional Wancho shawls, gifts, and a cultural presentation by youth volunteers.

In a brief address, the council president spoke about the community’s aspirations for improved educational infrastructure, scholarships for deserving students, and vocational programmes tailored to the region.

The Minister acknowledged the warmth of the welcome and assured the council that concerns raised would be taken up at the appropriate level.
